Czechoslovakian Cottage Kolaches Recipe
Ingredients
| All purpose flour | 2 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Sugar | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Cottage cheese | 2 Cup (16 tbs), creamed | |
| Butter | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Eggs | 2 , beaten | |
| Fruit fillings | ||
| Confectioners' sugar | ||
Directions
Sift the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt together.
Beat the cottage cheese in a bowl until smooth and creamy.
Add the butter and beat until light and fluffy.
Stir in the sifted ingredients.
Add the eggs and mix well.
Wrap in plastic wrap or waxed paper and chill thoroughly.
Roll out 1/8 inch thick on a floured surface and cut into 3-inch squares.
Place 1 spoon fining in center of each square.
Fold over corners and pinch together.
Place on baking sheets.
Bake in 375-degree oven for 18 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Dust with confectioners' sugar and cool on wire racks.
