Custard Sauce Recipe
The custard sauce is a sweet and delicious dessert sauce made with egg yolks and scalded milk along with sugar. The custard sauce is flavored with vanilla and can be used for any dessert.
Ingredients
4 beaten egg yolks
Dash salt
1/4 cup sugar
2 cups milk, scalded
1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
In top of double boiler combine egg yolks, salt, and sugar.
Gradually stir in slightly cooled milk.
Cook over hot not boiling, water, stirring constantly till custard coats metal spoon; remove from heat.
Cool at once.
Add vanilla.
Chill.
