Classic Custard Pie Recipe
Custard pies are simply luscious. The completely blended eggs give the perfect softness, and the combination of the condensed milk, water, salt and vanilla gives the custard pies a luscious taste.
Ingredients
| 1 unbaked 9 inch pastry shell | ||
| Eggs | 2 | |
| Sweetened condensed milk | 1 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Water | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| 1/2 teaspoon vanilla nutmeg | ||
Directions
Preheat oven to 425°F.
In medium size bowl beat eggs until just blended.
Add sweetened condensed milk, water, salt and vanilla; mix well.
Pour into pastry shell. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
Place on lowest rack of the oven and bake for 10 minutes at 425°F.
Reduce heat to 325°F. and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a knife inserted in centre comes out clean.
Cool at room temperature.
