Custard Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
1 egg or 2 egg yolks
1 c. milk
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. flavouring
F.g. salt
Directions
1. Scald the milk.
2. Beat the egg slightly and add the sugar and salt. Blend well.
3. Add the hot milk slowly, stir well.
4. Return to the top of the double boiler and cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly until the mixture is thick enough to coat a spoon.
5. Add the flavouring and cool.
