Traditional Custard Sauce Recipe
Over the years I have mastered the art of making Custard Sauce which I was taught by my family elders. It is an ideal Dessert. Bookmark this Custard Sauce page, otherwise you might regret your decision later.
Ingredients
1 whole egg, or 2 egg yolks, slightly beaten
3/4 cup milk, scalded
2 tablespoons sugar
Dash of salt
1/4 teaspoon vanilla, or other flavorings such as nutmeg, Sherry, or rum
Directions
Blend egg, milk, sugar, and salt in the top of a double boiler.
Cook, stirring constantly, over hot water until the custard coats a metal spoon.
Remove from heat and flavor with vanilla or other flavoring.
Cool quickly.
