Curried Meatballs Recipe
Even James Bond was not able to access this highly classified recipe of Curried Meatballs. Now I am outing it for all on the web. Beef is the primary ingredient in Curried Meatballs. Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1/2 tsp salt
Pinch of pepper
3/4 cup bread crumbs
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup tomato juice
3/4 cup onions, finely chopped
1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp butter
1/2 cup celery, chopped
1 1/2 cups apples, peeled, diced
1 tbsp curry powder
3 tbsp flour
Salt and pepper, to taste
10 oz canned beef consomme
3/4 cup water
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp lemon peel
1 tsp lemon juice
Directions
In a bowl, mix first 6 ingredients.
Add 1/4 cup (60 mL) onions.
Shape into meatballs.
In a skillet, heat oil and melt butter.
Lightly brown meatballs 10 minutes.
Remove from skillet.
In 1 tsp (5 mL) meatball cooking fat, over low heat, fry remaining onions, celery and apples 2 minutes.
Season with curry.
Cook 1 minute.
Gradually add remaining ingredients.
Cover.
Simmer 1 hour.
Add meatballs to sauce.
Simmer 30 minutes.
Add 1/4 cup (60 mL) onions.
