Currant Barbecue Style Chicken Recipe
Ingredients
| Chicken breasts | 2 1/2 Pound | |
| Currant jelly | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Chili Sauce | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Soy sauce | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Vinegar | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Garlic powder | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| Several drops bottled hot pepper sauce | ||
| Orange | 1 , sliced | |
Directions
Preheat the broiler.
Place chicken pieces, skin side down, on an unheated rack in a broiler pan.
Broil 4 to 5 inches from the heat for 15 to 18 minutes or till chicken is lightly browned.
Meanwhile, for sauce, in a small saucepan stir together jelly, chili sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic powder, and hot pepper sauce.
Cook over medium-low heat for 10 to 12 minutes or till bubbly, stirring occasionally to melt jelly.
Brush chicken pieces with some of the sauce.
Turn and broil for 10 to 15 minutes more or till chicken is no longer pink.
Brush with sauce.
Garnish with orange slices and parsley, if desired, and pass remaining sauce.
