Ingredients

 
1 pound raw shrimp shelled and deveined
 
1/2 teaspoon salt
 
1/2 teaspoon pepper
 
2 tablespoons oil
 
2 tablespoons ketchup
 
2 tablespoons soy sauce
 
2 tablespoons vinegar
 
2 teaspoons sugar
 
1 teaspoon minced ginger root
 
6 scallions, sliced
 
1 garlic clove, minced
 
1 teaspoon cornstarch
 
1 tablespoon water

Directions

Wash and drain the shrimp.
Sprinkle with the salt and pepper.
Heat the oil in a skillet; saute the shrimp 1 minute.
Add a mixture of the ketchup, soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, ginger, scallions, and garlic.
Cook over low heat 3 minutes, stirring frequently.
Mix together the cornstarch and water.
Add to the shrimp and cook 2 minutes.
