Cumin Seed Appetizer Recipe
Ingredients
| Tamarind | 2 Gram | |
| Pepper powder | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| 10 or 15 mint leaves | ||
| 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar or jaggery | ||
| Cumin seeds | 2 Teaspoon | |
| 1 teaspoon powdered rock salt or 2 teaspoons table salt | ||
| 1/4 teaspoon asafetida powder | ||
Directions
Soak tamarind in a cup of water.
If you are using jaggery, put it in a little water to soak.
Roast the cumin seeds on a griddle and grind them.
Extract a thick juice from the tamarind and strain it.
Add the sugar or jaggery, spices and mint leaves and salt.
Then put in a sufficient quantity of clean drinking water.
This can be taken as an appetizer or as a drink, or served with flour puffs (golgappas).
