Cuban Black Bean & Ham Soup Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 cup uncooked black beans, soaked overnight and drained | ||
| Salt slice | 1 | |
| Green bell pepper | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Onion | 1 Medium, finely chopped | |
| 2 teaspoons original blend | ||
| Garlic powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Ground cumin | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Black pepper | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), cut into cubes | |
Directions
Combine beans, ham slice, green pepper, onion and seasonings in medium saucepan; add enough water to just cover beans.
Bring to boil; reduce heat, cover and simmer about 1 1/2 to 2 hours, or until beans are tender and most of liquid is absorbed.
Add ham cubes.
Cook 10 minutes, or until ham is heated through.
Remove ham slice before serving.
