Ingredients
1 cup uncooked black beans, soaked overnight and drained
1 slice (2 ounces) Lower Salt Ham
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 teaspoons original blend
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 1/2 cups (6 ounces) Lower Salt Ham cut into 3/4-inch cubes
Directions
Combine beans, ham slice, green pepper, onion and seasonings in medium saucepan; add enough water to just cover beans.
Bring to boil; reduce heat, cover and simmer about 1 1/2 to 2 hours, or until beans are tender and most of liquid is absorbed.
Add ham cubes.
Cook 10 minutes, or until ham is heated through.
Remove ham slice before serving.
