Crumb Nut Crust Recipe
Crumb Nut Crust has a crunchy taste. Crumb Nut Crust gets its taste from vanilla wafer topped with pecans. Crumb Nut Crust is inspired by many bakeries around the world.
Ingredients
1 cup vanilla wafer crumbs
6 tablespoons butter or oleomargarine
3/4 cup grated pecans
Directions
Mix the crumbs and nuts and blend in the butter or margarine until the mixture can be pressed firmly around the bottom and sides of a 9 inch pie pan.
If you go a bit heavy on the butter, you'll find that the crust will hang together well and can be cut and served every bit as satisfactorily as a pastry shell.
Bake the shell in a slow oven (300° to 350°) for 1/2 hour or 40 minutes, until the nuts begin to brown slightly and smell toasty.
Remove and let cool.
