Classic Crockpot Corned Beef Recipe

I love this simple and easy crockpot corned beef recipe. Basically I love recipes that bring out a great delicious dish with minimum effort. This is one dish that is a wonderful fusion of flavors and tastes.

Ingredients

 Corned beef brisket4 Pound
 Garlic4 Clove (20 gm) (adjust quantity as per taste)
 Onion1 , finely chopped
 Cloves2
 Bay leaf1
 Cabbage1 , cut into 5-6 wedges of equal sizes
 Mustard paste4 Tablespoon
 Maple syrup1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
 Potatoes3 , sliced into thin round pieces
 Water1 (As required)

Directions

Take a crockpot or slow cooker and place the onions and potatoes. Place the corned beef brisket over it and add in the cloves, garlic and the bay leaf. Add the water and cover and let cook on low heat for about an hour and a half. Add some more water if required and continue cooking for another 2 hours till the corned beef and vegetables are well-cooked in the juices. Add the cabbage, the maple syrup and mustard paste and let cook for another hour. Take out and bake at 350 degrees for approximately 15-20 minutes. Serve the corned beef with a generous helping of the vegetables and drizzle with the maple syrup.

Hi, Great recipe but I had trouble finding two doves...the local butcher doesn't stock them but kindly got some in for me.
