Directions

Peel onions, cut into 1/4-inch slices, and separate into rings.
Combine flour, Parmesan cheese, parsley flakes, salt, garlic powder, pepper, beer, 1 tablespoon oil, and egg yolks, beat well.
Beat egg whites (at room temperature) until stiff peaks form, fold into batter.
Dip onion rings into batter; fry in deep hot oil (375°) until golden brown.
Drain on paper towels.
