Crisp Strawberry Short Cakes Recipe
Ingredients
2 cups s//ced strawberries
2 tbsp. sugar
1/3 cup whipping cream
1 tbsp. sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
2 tbsp. soft butter
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
4 rusks
Directions
Combine strawberries and 2 tbsp. sugar.
Let stand at room temperature until sugar is dissolved.
Beat cream and 1 tbsp. sugar together until stiff.
Heat broiler.
Cream brown sugar, butter and cinnamon together thoroughly.
Spread mixture thickly on rusks.
Put on cookie sheet and put low under the broiler (middle of oven) until bubbling well.
Put rusks on individual serving plates, top with berries and a spoonful of whipped cream.
Serve immediately.
