Creole Layer Cake Recipe
Even a bar of chocolate cannot lift my spirits as well as this Creole Layer Cake. A lip-smacking Dessert, this Creole Layer Cake completes your spread. Am I hearing a thank you from you for sharing this Creole Layer Cake recipe?
Ingredients
1/3 cup shortening (generous)
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup light molasses
2 beaten eggs
2 1/2 cups Swansdown Cake flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1 cup sour milk or buttermilk
Directions
Bake 2 layers in 325° F. oven 30 minutes.

I have a recipe for Brown Velvet Cake which is suppose to have Creole Praline Icing. I don't have the icing recipe. This recipe is from my deceased sister collection. It is handwritten with a notation for the Creole Praline Icing but that recipe is missing. Can you help me locate a good one? Thank you, Lottie Ann Knox
