Creme De Menthe Brownies Recipe

Ingredients
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 (16-ounce) can chocolate syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 cups sifted powdered sugar
2 tablespoons creme de menthe
1 (6-ounce) package semisweet chocolate morsels
1/4 cup butter or margarine
Directions
Cream 1/2 cup butter in a medium bowl; gradually add 1 cup sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Combine flour and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with chocolate syrup, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
Stir in vanilla.
Pour batter into a greased and floured 13- x 9- x 2-inch baking pan.
Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.
Cool completely (brownies will shrink from sides of pan while cooling).
Cream 1/4 cup butter in a small bowl; gradually add 2 cups powdered sugar and creme de menthe, mixing well.
Spread evenly over brownies; cover and refrigerate about 1 hour.
Combine morsels and 1/4 cup butter in top of a double boiler; bring water to a boil.
Reduce heat to low; cook until chocolate and butter melt.
Spread over brownies; cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour.
