Creme Brulee Recipe
Crème Brulee is quite a treat, however requires great care from you for the preparation part. All that you require is a handful of ingredients to prepare this yummy dessert. Keep in mind that this Crème Brulee is a prepare ahead dessert.
Ingredients
3 cups heavy cream
6 egg yolks
3/4 vanilla bean
2 t. granulated sugar
Light brown sugar to cover
Directions
Heat cream in a heavy saucepan with granulated sugar and vanilla bean; do not boil.
Beat egg yolks until pale yellow and creamy.
Add some of the hot cream and blend, then mix with cream in pan.
Cook over very low heat, stirring constantly until it thickens to consistency of light cream sauce.
This will seem to take weeks, but don't turn up the heat or it will strike back and curdle.
Chill overnight; this is essential.
Shortly before dinner, sprinkle brown sugar thickly over top and put under a preheated broiler.
Watch carefully until sugar bubbles but does not burn.
This can happen if you blink twice.
Re-refrigerate until time to serve.
