Simple Creme Caramel Recipe
Ingredients
4 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons water
2 whole eggs
2 egg yolks
2 cups milk
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
Preheat oven to 325° F.
In a small saucepan, heat the honey and water, stirring until honey is dissolved.
Boil rapidly until the syrup is golden brown.
Do not stir.
Remove from heat and pour into 5 individual custard clos.
Allow caramel to cool and set.
In a medium-size mixing bowl, combine eggs and egg yolks.
Beat very lightly with a whisk, then add milk and honey.
Stir until mixed evenly.
Add vanilla.
Strain.
Pour custard into cups on top of the caramel.
Set the cups in a baking pan and add enough hot water to come halfway up the sides of the custard cups.
Bake in preheated oven for about 25 minutes, or until center of custard is set.
