Broiled Creme Brulee Recipe
Creme Brulee is an irresistible dessert recipe. Once you try this effortlessly prepared simple recipe at your dinner party, I bet you would surely get a huge fan following.
Ingredients
2 cups whipping cream
1 tablespoon vanilla sugar
4 egg yolks, beaten
3/4 cup sieved brown sugar
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Heat cream in top of covered double boiler over hot, not boiling, water 5 to 7 minutes or until hot but not scalding.
Remove from heat and add vanilla sugar; stir until dissolved.
Gradually beat egg yolks into hot cream.
Pour into 7 1/2 inch pie plate or 6 small ovenproof bowls.
Set plate or bowls in pan of hot water.
Bake on middle rack of oven 50 to 60 minutes or until set.
Refrigerate until well chilled.
Preheat broiler.
Sprinkle 1/4 inch-thick layer of brown sugar over top of custard.
Broil 6 inches from heat, rotating occasionally, to brown the sugar evenly.
A fine, dark golden crust will form.
