1 (10-ounce) package frozen chopped spinach
 
1 (3-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
 
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted and divided
 
1/8 teaspoon salt
 
1/8 teaspoon pepper
 
1/2 cup soft breadcrumbs
 
1/4 teaspoon ground sage
 
1 hard-cooked egg, sliced (optional)

Directions

Cook spinach according to package directions.
Drain and squeeze dry.
Combine spinach, cream cheese, 2 tablespoons butter, salt, and pepper, mix well.
Spoon into a greased 1-quart baking dish.
Combine breadcrumbs and sage, sprinkle over spinach mixture.
Drizzle remaining 2 tablespoons butter over breadcrumbs.
Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 20 minutes.
Garnish with egg slices, if desired.
