Creamy Pasta With Spinach Recipe Video
Ingredients
For preparing the pasta:
Penne pasta- 6 ounces or approximately 2 cups, uncooked
Oil - 1 tablespoon
Salt - 1 teaspoon
To make the sauce:
Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
All purpose flour (plain flour, maida) - 2 tablespoons
Dry basil - 1 teaspoon
Italian herb mix - 1 teaspoon
Black pepper - 1/8 teaspoon
Red chili flakes - ½ teaspoon or adjust to taste
Heavy cream - 1 cup
Milk - 1 cup
Mozzarella cheese - ¼ cup
Salt - ½ teaspoon
Spinach - 6 ounces or 2 cups, chopped, without stem
Directions
GETTING READY
1. In a large saucepan, boil water with salt and oil; add the pasta.
2. Cook the pasta for about 10 minutes or until it is tender; drain the water and set pasta aside.
MAKING
3. Heat the oil over medium heat and add all-purpose flour; stir for a minute.
4. Add basil, Italian herb mix, black pepper, and chili flakes; stir for another minute.
5. While stirring, slowly add cream stirring continuously to avoid forming lumps.
6. After it comes to a boil, add milk and bring it to boil again.
7. Add spinach, mix it well and let it cook for 2-3 minutes stirring continuously, then turn off the heat. Add Mozzarella cheese and stir.
8. Pour the sauce over pasta and toss well.
SERVING
9. Place the pasta on a large serving dish and serve immediately.
