Creamed Walnuts Recipe

Ingredients

 
1 1/2 cups sugar
 
1/2 cup sour cream
 
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
 
2 cups walnut halves

Directions

Combine the sugar and sour cream in a 2-quart saucepan.
Cook, stirring, over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved.
Continue cooking without stirring to 240°, or until the mixture forms a firm soft ball in water.
Remove from the heat; add the vanilla and walnuts.
Stir immediately until just slightly thickened and the mixture looks cloudy.
Turn out onto waxed paper and separate the walnuts, using two forks.
