Ingredients
| 12 very small cymlings | ||
| Boiling water | ||
| Butter | 4 Tablespoon | |
| Onion | 2 Tablespoon, grated | |
| Flour | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Heavy cream | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Ground pepper | 1 To taste | |
| Dried thyme | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| 1/3 cup fine dry bread crumbs | ||
Directions
Cook the cymlings in boiling water to cover for 3 minutes.
Drain and turn into a buttered 1 1/2-quart baking dish.
Heat 2 tablespoons of the butter and stir in the onion and flour.
Cook, stirring constantly, for about 1 minute.
Stir in the cream.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and smooth.
Season with salt and pepper and stir in the thyme.
Pour the sauce over the cymlings.
Sprinkle with the bread crumbs and dot with the remaining butter.
Bake in a preheated moderate oven (350° F) for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
