Cream Of Green Bean Soup Recipe

1/2 pound fresh green beans
3 cups chicken broth
2 small potatoes, peeled and quartered
1/2 cup chopped fresh chives
1/4 cup butter or margarine
2 small cloves garlic, crushed
1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions
Wash beans; trim ends, and remove strings, if necessary.
Cut beans into 2-inch lengths.
Combine the beans and next 5 ingredients in a large saucepan; bring to a boil.
Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 20 to 25 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
Stir in salt and pepper.
Place about one-third of bean mixture in container of an electric blender; process until smooth.
Repeat procedure with remaining mixture.
Return to saucepan; stir in the sour cream and lemon juice.
Cook until soup is thoroughly heated, stirring constantly (do not boil).
