Cream Layer Cake Recipe

Ingredients

 
3 eggs, separated
 
1 c. sugar
 
1 c. sifted flour
 
1 tsp. baking powder
 
1 tsp. unflavored gelatin
 
1/2 c. milk
 
1/2 pt. cream
 
1/4c. confectioners' sugar
 
1/2 tsp. Vanilla

Directions

Beat egg yolks with sugar in large mixing bowl.
Add 3 tablespoons water; mix well.
Sift flour with baking powder; fold into egg mixture.
Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form; fold into flour mixture.
Pour batter into 3 layer cake pans.
Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes or until cake tests done.
Soften gelatin in milk; heat, stirring constantly, until gelatin is dissolved. Cool.
Whip cream and confectioners' sugar; add vanilla.
Add gelatin mixture; blend well.
Refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
Spread gelatin mixture between cake layers.
Top with gelatin mixture.
