Cream Giblet Gravy Recipe
I am sure you wouldn't mind getting hooked to this Cream Giblet Gravy recipe. Chicken is one of the few ingredients I like to include in my daily cooking and this is my comfort recipe that I usually prepare using it. There is not a single month when I don't serve this yummy Side Dish! You don't have to be a gourmet to judge how mouth-watering and tasty this dish really is.
Ingredients
Chicken giblets, back and neck
1 1/2 cups plus 2 tablespoons water
1 small onion sliced
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup evaporated milk
Salt and pepper
Directions
Combine giblets (except liver), back, neck, 1 1/2 cups water, and onion in medium-size saucepan; cover.
Simmer 1 hour, or until tender.
Add liver about 20 minutes before end of cooking time.
Remove giblets and chicken pieces (reserve broth); cool; dice giblets and any small pieces of meat; save for later stage.
Strain broth, adding water if needed to make 1 cup.
Return broth to saucepan; stir in flour blended to a smooth paste with 2 tablespoons water.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until gravy thickens and boils 1 minute; stir in evaporated milk and chopped gib lets and chicken; season to taste with salt and pepper.
