Cream Filling Recipe

Cream filling is a smooth yet simple filling prepared with sugar, eggs and milk base. Flavored with vanilla, the cream filling is quite versatile and can be combined with chocolate, butterscoth or other flavors for a brand new filling.

Ingredients

 
1/2 cup sugar
 
1/3 cup enriched flour
 
1/2 teaspoon salt
 
2 cups milk
 
2 slightly beaten eggs
 
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

Mix sugar, flour, salt; slowly stir in milk.
Cook and stir over medium heat till mixture boils and thickens; cook 2 minutes longer.
Stir a little of hot mixture into eggs; stir into remaining hot mixture; stirring constantly, bring just to boiling.
Add vanilla; cover surface with waxed paper; cool.
Butterscotch Filling: In above recipe, use 2/3 cup brown sugar in place of granulated sugar.
Add 1/4 cup butter with vanilla.
Chocolate Filling: In Cream Filling, add 1 1/2 1 ounce squares unsweetened chocolate, cut up, with milk; increase sugar to 3/4 cup.
