Classic Cream Puffs Recipe

Cream Puffs are simply amazing! Small cream or custard filled puffs are ideal as desserts. Just dip in your hand and insert one of these tasty Cream Puffs in your mouth!

Ingredients

 
1 cup water
 
1/2 cup shortening
 
1/4 teaspoon salt
 
1 cup flour
 
4 eggs, unbeaten

Directions

Bring water, shortening and salt to a boil.
Stir in flour and cook until dough forms a smooth ball and leaves sides of sauce pan clean.
Then remove from heat and cool slightly.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Drop by spoonfuls on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 450° F for 10 minutes.
Reduce heat to 400° F.and bake 25 minutes more.
Cool.
Slit and fill with sweetened whipped cream, custard, chocolate or fruit filling.
