Cream Of Tomato With Bread Recipe
Ingredients
2 cups (1 L) milk
3 slices bread, crusts removed
2 tbsp (30 ml) butter
3 or 4 onions, chopped
Salt and pepper
1/2 tsp (2 ml) baking soda
28 oz (796 ml) canned tomatoes
Directions
– Pour milk into a stove-top casserole and place bread in milk. Soak and set aside.
– In a skillet, melt butter and saute onions. Add onions to bread mixture and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and season with salt and pepper. Add baking soda and tomatoes. Heat and serve.
