Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
2 cups cooked or canned peas
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
2 cups water
1 cup light cream or milk
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Directions
Place butter and onion in a deep, 2 1/2 quart, heat-resistant, non-metallic casserole.
Heat, uncovered, on full power 3 minutes or until onion is tender.
Stir mixture occasionally.
Add peas, salt, sugar and water.
Heat, uncovered, on full power 3 minutes.
Puree mixture in a blender until smooth.
Add light cream and heat, uncovered, on roast for 5 to 7 minutes or until heated through.
Stir occasionally.
Stir in remaining ingredients and heat, uncovered, on roast 2 minutes longer or until soup bubbles.
