Cream Cheese Pastries Recipe
Ingredients
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup tart red jelly or jam
Directions
Cream butter and cream cheese till fluffy; gradually blend in sugar.
Stir together flour and salt; stir into creamed mixture.
Cover; chill dough several hours or overnight.
Divide dough into thirds.
On lightly floured surface roll each portion to 12 1/2 x 10-inch rectangle.
With fluted pastry wheel.cut into 2 1/2-inch squares.
Place a dot of jelly or jam in center of.
each square; bring up two diagonal corners to center, pinching together to seal.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375° till set but not brown, about 12 minutes.
If desired, sift additional powdered sugar over slightly warm pastries.
