Cranberry Orange Fruit Bread Recipe
Ingredients
| All purpose flour | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Granulated Sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Baking soda | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Grated rind and juice of 1 orange | ||
| 3 tbs melted butter Boiling water | ||
| Egg | 1 , Well beaten | |
| Chopped nuts | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs), chopped fine | |
| 1/2 cup red Maraschino cherries, cut in quarters, optional | ||
Directions
Sift first five ingredients into a large mixing bowl.
Mix orange juice, grated rind and melted butter in a measuring cup.
Add enough boiling water to make 2/3 cup.
Combine this with beaten egg.
Stir liquid into dry ingredients.
Fold in nuts, cranberries and cherries.
Put batter in a greased 8 x 4 inch loaf pan and let stand 20 minutes.
Bake at 350F for 60 minutes.
Brush with corn syrup while hot and decorate with chopped nuts and cherries.
