Cranberry Fizz Recipe
I received this yummy Cranberry Fizz recipe from my neighbors after they surprised me with this awesome tasting Cranberry Fizz last month. Fruits is the main component in this Cranberry Fizz recipe. Believe me, just try this Cranberry Fizz once, you'll love it.
Ingredients
1 1/4 cups fresh or frozen cranberries (5 ounces)
5 strips orange zest (colored part of the rind), each 3 inches by 1/4 inch
1 cup water
1/2 cup orange juice
1/3 cup sugar
3 slices fresh ginger, each the size of a quarter
1/2 vanilla bean, split lengthwise, or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/3 cups seltzer
Directions
1 ln a medium-size saucepan, bring the cranberries, orange zest, water, orange juice, sugar, ginger, and vanilla bean to a boil overhigh heat
Lower the heat, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes or until the berries are soft.
2 Strain the mixture over a medium-size heatproof bowl.
Using the back of a spoon, press the solids to extract as much liquid as possible, then discard them.
You should have about 1 1/3 cups of liquid.
Let the liquid cool to room temperature.
For each serving, pour 1/3 cup of the cranberry mixture into a tall glass, add 1/3 cup of the seltzer, and stirto blend.
Add ice if desired.
Lower the heat, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes or until the berries are soft.
2 Strain the mixture over a medium-size heatproof bowl.
