Cracked Pepper Steak Recipe
The cracked pepper steak is a rib eye steak prepared with green onions. Skillet cooked, this rib eye cracked pepper steak is flavored with garlic and fresh pepper to taste. Prepared with butter, the cracked pepper steak is great with mashed potatoes and salad as a side.
Ingredients
2 (8 to 12 ounce) rib eye steaks,1 1/2 inches thick
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 teaspoon cracked black pepper, divided
Directions
Sprinkle both sides of steaks with garlic powder and salt; set aside.
Saute green onions in butter in a large skillet until crisp tender.
Remove onions, and set aside.
Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon pepper in the skillet; add steaks, and cook over medium heat 8 minutes.
Sprinkle remaining 1/2 teaspoon pepper over top of steaks; turn and continue cooking 8 minutes or until steaks reach desired degree of doneness.
Remove steaks to serving platter, and sprinkle with onions.
