Crab Gumbo Recipe
Ingredients
| Onions | 2 , chopped | |
| 4 tomatoes, chopped, or 1 cup canned tomatoes | ||
| Water | 7 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Okra | 10 , sliced | |
| Bay leaves | 2 | |
| Parsley sprigs | 3 | |
| Salt | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Thyme | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| 1/4 tsp. dried ground chili peppers | ||
| Butter | 4 Tablespoon | |
| Crab meat | 1 Pound, canned | |
Directions
Combine the onions, tomatoes, water, okra, bay leaves, parsley, salt, thyme, and chili peppers in a saucepan.
Cover and cook over medium heat for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove bay leaves.
Melt the butter in a frying pan.
Add the crab meat and saute lightly until delicately brown, stirring frequently.
Add to the tomato mixture.
Cover and cook over low heat for 30 minutes.
Correct seasoning.
Serve with boiled rice.
