Country Style Terrine Recipe
Country Style Terrine is a simply delicious mouth-watering recipe. Try this amazingly tempting baked recipe; I am sure you will get a lot of compliments for this.
Ingredients
1 onion, chopped
1 teaspoon butter or nonstick pan
1 pound lean ground veal or calf
1/2 pound lean ground chuck or round
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons brandy
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon each thyme and allspice
1/4 teaspoon each ground ginger cloves and pepper
2 eggs
3 tablespoons nonfat dry milk solids
4 slices proscuitto
3 tablespoons pine nuts or shelled pistachios
2 bay leaves
peppercorns
Directions
Saute onion in butter, preferably or in a nonstick pan, until tender; let cool.
Mix together ground meats onion garlic, brandy, salt, thyme, allspice, ginger, cloves, pepper, eggs and milk solids.
Line a 41/2 by 7 inch loaf pan with a layer of proscuitto and half the meat mixture.
Sprinkle with half the nuts.
Cover with proscuitto, remainingmeat mixture, and nuts.
Decorate with bay leaves and a few peppercorns.
Place in a pan of hot water and bake in a 350° oven for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours or until set.
