Country Chicken Bake Recipe

| Hard cider/White wine | 2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs) | |
| Bacon slices | 4 | |

| White bread slice | 8 | |
| Shredded suet | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Dried thyme | 1 Pinch | |
| Grated lemon rind | 1⁄2 Teaspoon | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| Milk | 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) | |

Directions
Put the chicken portions in a greased ovenproof dish and pour in the cider or wine.
Chop the bacon coarsely .
Chop the onions finely , and mix with the bacon.
Discard the crusts and make the bread into crumbs .
Add the suet, thyme, lemon rind, salt, pepper, egg and milk and mix to a soft dough .
Add the onion and bacon and mix until just incorporated.
Cover the chicken with the dough.
Cover with a piece of foil and bake at 350°F for 2 hours.
Remove the foil and continue cooking for 15 minutes.
Serve with gravy
