Ingredients

 Beef round1 Kilogram
 Olive oil45 Milliliter
 45 ml flour, all purpose
 Onions3 , diced
 Garlic1 Clove (5gm), minced
 Carrots3 Large, diced
 Celery stalks4 , diced
 Button mushrooms20
 Beef broth750 Milliliter
 Tomato Paste90 Milliliter
 Worcestershire sauce15 Milliliter
 30 ml soya sauce
 3 ml each of salt, pepper, paprika, chili powder, thyme, oregano
 Potatoes6 Large

Directions

Cut the beef in large cubes.
Heat the oil in a large kettle or Dutch oven.
Add the beef and brown.
Remove the beef.
Sprinkle with flour and cook over low heat for 5 minutes or until golden brown.
Add the onion, garlic, carrots, celery and mushrooms.
Saute until tender.
Stir in the beef, broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire, soya and seasonings.
Cover and simmer for 45 minutes.
Pare and dice the potatoes.
Add to the stew and continue to simmer for an additional 30 minutes.
Serve with Grandma's Best Dumplings or fresh biscuits.
