Country Kitchen Soup Recipe
Ingredients
| Baby lima beans - 1/4 cup | ||
| Small red beans - 1/4 cup | ||
| Yellow peas | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Green peas | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Lentils | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Pinto beans | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Pearl barley - 1/4 cup | ||
| Water | 2 Quart | |
| Ham bone | 1 Large | |
| Onion | 1 Large, chopped | |
| Chili powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Lemon juice | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Tomatoes - 2 cans (16-ounce), chopped | ||
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
Directions
GETTING READY
1) Wash beans and all other legumes.
2) Cover with cold water and set aside to soak overnight.
MAKING
3) Take a saucepan and drained beans and legumes.
4) Stir in water and ham bone.
5) Bring the mixture to a boil. Cover and reduce heat. Simmer for about 2 1/2 hours.
6) Add all the remaining ingredients and simmer for about 30 minutes or more.
SERVING
7) Spoon out the soup in individual bowls and serve immediately.
