Cottage Cheese Flan Recipe
The cottage cheese flan is a cream and cottage cheese flan that may be served as 'not so sweet' dessert. Made along with yogurt and eggs along with maple syrup and some sugar for sweetness, the cottage cheese flan is baked and chilled and can be served with maple syrup or fresh fruit or both.
Ingredients
2 cups small curd cottage cheese
2 Tbsp sugar
1/2 cup plain yogurt
1/2 cup sour cream
4 eggs
Maple syrup
Directions
With electric mixer, beat eggs until frothy.
Blend cottage cheese in a food processor until fairly smooth.
Add cottage cheese, sugar, yogurt and sour cream to the egg mixture, and beat again until well mixed.
Pour into a flan pan.
Place pan in a shallow pan of water, and bake in preheated oven at 375°F for 35 to 40 minutes until flan is set and the top is slightly browned.
Remove from the oven, and let flan cool completely in the pan of water.
Chill in refrigerator for several hours.
Cut into slices, serving each slice with lots of maple syrup or fresh fruit.
