Cottage Cheese Rolls Recipe
Ingredients
| Cottage cheese | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| 3 - 4 tablespoons milk or buttermilk | ||
| Oil | 5 Tablespoon | |
| Flour | 2 Cup (16 tbs), sifted | |
| Baking powder | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Baking soda | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Blend cottage cheese, egg, milk, and oil in processor or by hand.
Sift together dry ingredients and combine with the cottage cheese mixture.
Turn out on a floured board and knead until smooth.
Shape into 8-10 rolls and place on a greased baking sheet.
Brush each roll with the undiluted egg yolk, and slash the top with a sharp knife.
Sprinkle the tops with the poppy or caraway seeds.
Bake for 20 minutes until golden.
Serve warm.
These taste like yeast rolls and are good for breakfast, or served with soup.
