Ingredients

 1 1/2 cups yellow or white cornmeal
 All purpose flour1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Baking soda1 Teaspoon
 Sugar1 Teaspoon
 Salt1 Teaspoon
 Sour milk2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Cooking oil2 Tablespoon
 1 slightly beaten egg yolk
 1 stiffly beaten egg white

Directions

Stir together cornmeal, flour, baking soda, sugar, and salt.
Add sour milk, cooking oil, and beaten egg yolk; blend well.
Fold in beaten egg white.
Let batter stand for 10 minutes.
Bake on hot, lightly greased griddle, turning once.
