Cornish Hens with Peach Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 cornish hens (about 1 lb. ea.), split | ||
| Browning sauce | ||
| Paprika | ||
| Pepper | 1 | |
| Peaches | 1 Can (10oz), drained | |
| Orange juice | 2/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Cornstarch | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Ground ginger | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
Directions
In 2-quart oblong casserole dish, arrange hen so that wings are in center of dish.
Brush with browning sauce and season with paprika and pepper.
TO HEAT BY TIME Cover with wax paper.
Set Power Select at HIGH for 10 to 11 minutes.
TO HEAT BY INSTA-MATlC Cover completely with 2 pieces of plastic wrap; heat on COOK 4.
After heating, release plastic wrap.
Hens should be tender.
Let stand, covered, 7 minutes.
Meanwhile, in small glass bowl, combine reserved syrup, orange juice, cornstarch and ginger.
Heat 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 minutes or until sauce is thickened; stir once.
Add peaches and spoon over hens.
If necessary, heat 1 1/2 to 2 minutes before serving.
Garnish, if desired, with slivered almond.
