Holiday Corned Beef Recipe
Ingredients
| Water | 8 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Bay Leaf | 1 | |
| Peppercorns | 6 | |
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), minced | |
| Mixed spices | 1 Tablespoon | |
| 5 to 6 pounds beef brisket or rump | ||
Directions
Mix all ingredients except meat in a crock.
Add meat, cover with a plate, and put a heavy weight on top.
Let meat stand in brine for 36 hours.
Beef brisket is best for this, but rump can be used.
