Until you have sat on a sandy beach with the music of water lapping at your feet, before you a glowing bonfire and you a golden harvest moon, and in your hands a piping hot cob of corn from which you munch the sweet and succulent kernels, you just haven't lived a full life! Pull back the husks and remove the silks from fresh corn.
Then soak the cob, husks and all, in cold water for 20 to 30 minutes.
This ensures that the husks are wet through.
Drain the cobs, dry them, brush them with melted butter and tie the husks back in place.
Roll each cob up in a piece of aluminum foil, sealing it tightly.
Place the corn in the glowing coals of the bonfire and let it roast, turning several times, for 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the size of the cob.
Shuck the corn, add salt and pepper and more melted butter, if desired, and start getting the next round ready!
