 Ground beef1 Pound
 Onion1/3 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
 Shortening1 Tablespoon
 Chili powder 6 Teaspoon
 Salt3/4 Teaspoon
 Worcestershire sauce1 Teaspoon
 1 1/2 c. canned tomatoes or 1 c. tomato sauce
 Kidney beans1 Cup (16 tbs), drained
 1 box corn bread mix or favorite recipe for corn bread

Directions

Brown ground beef and onion in shortening.
Add seasonings and tomatoes and cook for 10 minutes.
Add kidney beans.
Pour into greased 11/2-quart casserole.
Top with corn br ead prepared according to package directions.
Bake 20 minutes or until corn bread is done in 425-degree oven.
Leftover chili is a delicious substitute for meat mixture.
Simply heat; top with corn bread and continue as above.
