Directions
1) Preheat oven at 350 degrees F.
MAKING
2) In a bowl, add egg, sugar and syrup to mix.
3) In another bowl, sift the dry ingredients.
4) Alternately, fold in dry ingredients and milk, to the egg mixture.
5) Pour in melted shortening.
6) Use greased muffin tins to fill 2/3 with the batter.
7) Place inside oven to bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
8) Cool the muffins on rack.
SERVING
9) Top the muffins with your choice of toppings to serve.
