Home Style Corn Chowder Recipe
This Corn Chowder is one of the best corn soups that I've ever tasted ! Try this creamy vegetable soup for your next meal and let me know if you like it.
Ingredients
3 cups milk
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/2 cup thinly sliced onion
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon white pepper
1 can (16 ounces) whole kernel golden corn (undrained)
1 tablespoon chopped chives
Directions
1. Pour milk into a 1-quart glass measuring cup. Heat uncovered in microwave oven until very hot (about 3 minutes at High).
2. Put butter and onion slices, separated in rings, into a 2-quart glass casserole. Cook uncovered in microwave oven 3 1/2 to 4 minutes at High, or until onion is soft; stir once.
3. Blend flour, salt and pepper into butter-onion mixture. Add the hot milk gradually, stirring constantly. Stir in undrained corn. Cook uncovered in microwave oven about 14 minutes at High, or until boiling and slightly thickened; stir 3 times.
