Cooked Shrimp Recipe
Grandma's cookbook is one of the best places to find a delicious recipe, this Cooked Shrimp is right out from there. It is an amazing Side Dish to set the Canadian table. Stock up on bags full of Shrimp as you will want to make this Cooked Shrimp a lot. It would be a sin to not try this sinfully delicious Cooked Shrimp recipe.
Ingredients
1 lb. fresh shrimp with shells
2 cups water
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon salt
Directions
Wash the shrimp in cold water.
Drop shrimp into a boiling mixture of remaining ingredients.
Cover tightly.
Simmer 5 minutes, or only until shrimp are pink in color.
(Avoid overcooking as it toughens shrimp.) Drain and cover with cold water to chill.
Drain shrimp again.
Remove tiny legs from shrimp; peel off shells.
Cut a slit along back (curved surface) of each shrimp just deep enough to expose the black vein.
With knife point remove vein in one piece.
Rinse quickly in running cold water.
Drain on absorbent paper.
Store in refrigerator until ready to use.
