Cooked Filling Recipe

Ingredients

 
1/2 pound ground beef
 
1 small onion chopped
 
1 clove garlic minced
 
1/2 cup cracked grain
 
11 1/2 cups water
 
1 small potato, unpeeled and shredded
 
1 small carrot, unpeeled and shredded
 
Salt and pepper

Directions

Lightly brown the ground beef in a large skillet.
Drain off excess liquid.
Add the onion and garlic, and saute.
Add grain, and cook until lightly brown.
Add 2 cups of the water, cover skillet, and simmer for 10 minutes.
Check moisture content, adding remaining 1 cup water if necessary.
Ten minutes before grain is tender, add shredded potato and carrot.
Salt and pepper to taste.
Mixture should be thick.
Baking: Bake in a 425° F.
Oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
